The Confession
Take a listen to my confession, it is only 90 seconds long so nothing serious!
I got caught in the Ai trap, the one that promises you the world and delivers, but then you step outside and you are totally naked! My last post, HERE was made up from 60% Ai content. Whilst I admit that I had moved stuff around, edited sentences and made it ‘my own!’, it never really was mine.
A friend of mine called me, out of the blue to tell me that he missed my ‘flesh’ - I had to dig deep to realise he meant that he missed seeing and hearing the real me. He was very honest about the uses of Ai and how we can all benefit from them. However, he explained that as a writer who makes money from his substack posts, it is a little frustrating that others are putting content out that they have little or no input with.
Like the forward part of a vessel, dipping beneathe the waves, I bow my head in shame and walk the walk….
From here on in, just me, raw, edited, but real.
Stay safe
Lee
Thank you to
for opening my eyes.
Now I feel guilty. ;-)
I certainly wasn't calling you out. Just commenting that I enjoy your real tone and sentiment. And that I know when you are speaking from the heart because that is all you've ever done.
Apart from that last post. When something felt off. It was the diluted you. And as smart as these tools are.. us humans still have the edge. But perhaps not for long. So let's make the most of it. :-)
As I said on the phone, A.I. tools are great at assisting us. But don't be too keen to have them replace us. I read your posts because I want to hear your stories. Stories from you. Not from the machine.
Of course one day we will not be able to tell. It will all be one and the same. That's when I hope we'll all gather together more. In physical space. Round fires and tables. Able to look others in the eyes and laugh together.
Remembering when the internet was full of humans.
