Only 356 days to go….
Christmas is done for another year. I must admit, this year was a hard one, after losing Mum in April it was always going to be a different Christmas. Most Christmas celebrations over the past few years were held with Mum, and as she got older and unable to perfect her incredible Christmas Dinner’s, we brought her home to us and spent some quality time with her. Some years, she also spen the holiday season at my Brother’s house.
What do you do with Lego once its built?
In between navigating tiny lego bits that are incredibly painful underfoot, to numerous rounds of battery fitting in new toys, and downloading new games to new pads, we did have a good time together.
Especially given the best present we could have hoped for - Our Son returned from Canada to spend the Holiday with us. It was needed, and as he is still with us for another couple of weeks we intend to make the most of it before his return. He has really taken to Canada and we feel blessed to have such a lovely lady looking after him. Patricia is such an amazing lady, the kind of person that you need in your life to make you smile, remind you to be grateful and to hug - often! Without her, I am sure this trip of a lifetime would be so different, both for our Son and us. Thank you Patricia ❤

Rain, rain go away….
It was an interesting week, the rain did not stop falling (or so it seemed) for days. Given the dampest Christmas had already soaked the ground, it was inevitable that we should see some flooding.
The roads around our Village suffered quite badly - most of the routes out were unpassable, but I managed to find a couple of roads with kerb sized flooding which the family bus handled perfectly. Thankfully, it is higher off the ground than a standard car and as such can navigate slightly deeper water without too much concern. That said, I would never advise anyone to attempt to cross floodwater.
Talking of journey’s…
I have recently been addicted to the adventures of a lady called Noraly who has so far ridden over 150.000 kilometres around the World on numerous motorbikes. Her video’s are so inspiring and make me realise that I would really love to pass my motorbike license one day. Go and take a look…
The last bit…
Today has seen the commencement of a rather large building project at our house. With seven of us in the house, it has become unsustainable and as such we are extending. These things are obviously messy, stressy and sometimes petty (could not think of another ETTY sound!) I will be taking regular update images and hope to compile a before and after collage when its is completed. That should be, with luck, around March this year!
That it for now, the next post will be primarily about the state of the care system in the Uk. I hope you can join me for that.
See you out there….
